![]() ![]() If there's any doubt as to whether or not you'll get your money's worth from the game, then save the money. I'm failing to see where this is a decision that requires metrics. This ain't a financial advice thread, it's someone saying "Boy it sure would be nice if we had a metric by which to tell whether this is a waste of money (moreso than games in general already are)" Doesn't mean people like wasting it if the game ends up being dead. Yes, anyone with a regular job could cough that up a couple dozen times a month and be fine. It doesn't need to be a "life altering" investment for people to debate whether they want to cough up the dosh or not. If you don't like it enough to ignore the braindead "game is dead" trolls, then don't buy it. If you like the game, buy it and play it until it dies. Launch the game, start a game, see the 1 minute queue time (3 mins for high tier ranked). The game is not dead, and if you need a gauge to tell you the game isn't dead, it's easy. ![]() and if it is, it might be time to start looking into a better job. Even if the game somehow died in the near future, which is incredibly unlikely, a $20 loss isn't going to leave you without food on the table or homeless. If you have to ask yourself whether or not you should be spending $20 on the game, you probably shouldn't be spending money on any games. If someone sees the player numbers are declining or borderline nonexistent, it's valid for them to not want to invest in it, as it may be borderline unplayable in the near future. But on a multiplayer-only game, where the playerbase determines whether or not you can even play the game as intended, having some information on the player metrics is indeed important to figuring out whether or not you're willing to spend money on it.
